Using our background in 3D, Digimation is embarking on an undisclosed virtual environment project to create accurate 3D representations of cities and buildings. What really makes this project unique is that the buildings will feature accurate interiors as well as exteriors. To accomplish this, we’ll be bringing several existing technologies together, as well as developing some new ones in-house. The end product will allow realtime movement and training across multiple platforms (Windows, Mac, and iPhone).
The end result of this project is designed for use by first responders, but it has the potential to appeal to many other sectors given the wide range of needs it can meet.
We’ve already begun the first phase of development so if you’re curious about the direction of this new project, let us know. We’ll also be showcasing our efforts at the 2009 IITSEC later this year and posting updates here (as much as we can) throughout the project.
